Dr. Bertens is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Ottawa. She is also the Section Head of Hepatobiliary Surgery at The Ottawa Hospital and the Site Chief of General Surgery at the General Campus. She completed her residency in General Surgery at Western University followed by a fellowship in HPB surgery at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle Washington. She holds a Master of Public Health with a focus in Quantitative Methods from the Harvard School of Public Health.
